NEW ALBUM: TIME AND SPACE

Ken's new album, "Time and Space" is now finished and available on CD. The project, which was begun in January of this year, was completed over the summer. The album brings many of the same people together, who made "Precious Life" such as success.

Once again, the record was produced by veteran Karen Kane, and combines the sounds of a string quartet with more traditional folk arrangements. Returning musicians include Denny Kennedy on harmony vocals, Roly Platt on harmonicas, Randall Hill on mandolin, and Carol Rowe on viola. Carol also wrote the string arrangements for the "Good Friday String Quartet" which is featured on half the fourteen songs. Wayne DeAdder on bass, and Steve Kennedy, saxophone player for "Lighthouse" round out the roster of excellent musicians.

ANOTHER SUMMER OF FESTIVALS ENDS

Between trips to Toronto to record "Time and Space", Ken had a busy summer playing festivals and other gigs across Ontario, including a 4,000km trek to Ear Falls, near Kenora to play four shows at the fabulous "Trout Forest Music Festival". A much needed break from performing is planned prior to heading out on the road again in support of the new album.

Back home after a successful tour of eastern Ontario, Ken will be playing with Don Bray at the Sing Out! Cafe in Durham on May 13, and the Boathouse Tea Room in Kitchener on June 8. Check the performances page for details!

Ken kicks off a tour of Southwestern Ontario with a radio show on CFRU in Guelph on March 24. Check out the performances page for details!

BACK FROM BELIZE

Ken returned from Belize on March 23. The musical highlight of the trip was definitely having the opportunity to play the guitar Richie Havens played at Woodstock! The old beat-up Guild, complete with a picture of Richie with the instrument at Woodstock, was offered for an impromptu suppertime show at the Black Rock Jungle Lodge near San Ignacio by its owner John, the congenial proprieter. Definitely, a once in a lifetime gig!

UPCOMING SHOWS

A number of new concerts and radio shows in March and April have recently been added in Hamilton, Kitchener, Guelph, Durham, Markdale and Ottawa. Check out the "Performances" page for more details!
